Isn't it so funny the ways babies go to sleep?? I've been wanting to comment on many of your posts, but I just haven't gotten around to it... so here it goes!

* I can't believe it is THAT cold in Alaska! It's been about 10 here but not -45! BRRR, are you ready for the change?!?!

* Happy Birthday to Katelyn Grace!! She is SO cute! What a privelege to have such an angel come to live with you!

* OH, and happy birthday to your blog too! I didn't get around to posting when I read it... sorry about that!

* I'm so excited for you that you only have... 84 days left until your marriage! You are so cute together!!

I just had a quick question to ask you... do you really do college plus?? I've been looking into and I'm very interested in doing it, just don't have enough money! Do you enjoy doing it?

Oh, and I just thouht of something else that I wanted to ask you... where do you and your sisters get your adorable skirts/dresses? And do you mainly wear dresses? I have just been wearing dresses/skirts for about 6 months and I LOVE IT! But I just need more dresses that I can move better in!

I just love reading your blog and learning more about your family! I just wish that you lived next door! You just sound so much like us! (raw milk, no sugar... well most of the time ;) I really have been so blessed by your story Lauren! I'm sure that Heavenly Father has great things in store for you!!

Blessings,
Alexandrea

Hello Alexandrea!

I need to head to bed in a sec, since I have to drive Mom and the baby about 10 hours tomorrow. But I've been wanting to respond to your sweet comment for the last couple of days....

Am I ready for the change to Alaska? It depends on your definition of "ready." : ) I'm definitely ready to marry the best young man in the world and more than willing to move to wherever he lives (even if it were the North Pole!). And I'm so excited about living in Alaska! It's the most beautiful state in the country! Am I ready for the cold? Well.... I guess I'll have to be! ;D

I was in CollegePlus!, pursuing a degree in piano, for a little less than a year. I think it's a wonderful way to get a degree if you decide that you absolutely have to have a degree. November 2006, I really started looking at where I was putting my time, where I should be putting my time, and exactly what I wanted my emphasis to be. My goals: to be a wife and a mother, homeschool my children, and help my husband in his business and/or ministry if at all possible. At this point, Tait had just kind of come on the scene, but not a whole bunch had transpired by that time, and no one was sure exactly where all of that would lead. Mom was going to be having a baby in just a few months (we didn't know about the Down syndrome at that point), and I knew my time would be even shorter post-baby than it already was pre-baby.

There were a ton of issues involved, and Mom, Dad, and I talked it over from every angle imaginable. But the end result of it was that I stopped doing CollegePlus! Not because the program is bad or anything, but because I felt like I could be using my time more wisely and more productively.

If you have anymore questions about it, I'd be happy to answer them!

Hmmmm ... where do we get our skirts and dresses? Everywhere! Dillards, Ross, Ann Taylor (only on sale:), Old Navy, Gap, friends, relatives, mail-order.... Yes, pretty much anywhere and everywhere. The stores have so many cute skirts out there! I have a harder time wearing dresses because they are definitely more difficult to move around in. But I still like wearing them sometimes!

Leslie (my 18-year-old sister) and I wear skirts and dresses all the time, except for a few occasions - hiking, swimming, etc. - when we wear loose gauchos or pants, or pants with a skirt over them. I guess we started wearing skirts and dresses a little over a year ago, and we both love it! I was the 12-year-old girl (15-year-old, even?) who always hated wearing skirts, and declared that I would never ever wear them regularly. But I love it now! I have several skirts that are easy to move around in (picked up two of them for $5 each at Burlington), and normally wear those when I need to move around more.

I need to run now, but I'd like write more later!

Blessings,
Lauren
